Every elevator in Seoul opens onto a different tomorrow, and the only way back is to sell one last floor button before the city forgets which century it belongs to. A disgraced funeral magician who once lied to grieving families now hunts for the button’s origin, but each time he “escapes” he arrives in a kinder—or more terrified—version of tomorrow. The closer he gets, the more his own memories desynchronize, until he can’t tell whether his disgrace was deserved or planted. When the elevator doors begin to open without him, he must decide what to sacrifice—his last reputation or the last anchor that keeps Seoul in time.
